Tiranga sandwich represents the three colors of the Indian flag (Tiranga) with three layers filling hence the name Tiranga Sandwich or Tricolor Sandwich.
For saffron layer I used carrots and ketchup. I made green layer with Coriander mint chutney and green bell pepper, white layer with mayonnaise and white cabbage .
You can use the veggies of your choice too that suits the color theme. I used white bread slices for this recipe, you can use brown breads too. For vegetables, green color I used green bell pepper (capsicum) along with green chutney, you can use cucumbers or mix of capsicum and cucumber for green layer.
Also you you can avoid using vegetables completely and can use chutneys for this recipe.
For saffron layer use onion tomato chutney, for white layer use coconut chutney and for green layer use green chutney .
This sandwich would be ideal breakfast recipe for kids especially during the republic and independence day. While I and my husband ate this sandwich with a hot cup of tea.
