Recipe for Satvik Bhindi fry


Bhindi or Ladyfinger or Okra is a vegetable available easily across India, this recipe of Bhindi masala is  Satvik Bhindi Masala (No Onion No Garlic Bhindi Masala). The recipes is prepared without Onion and Garlic so it is  called as Satvik Recipes. Generally, we serve sattvik food to the god we worship during festival days.

How to make Satvik Bhindi fry or okra

Ingredients for  Bhindi stir fry 

  • 250 gram Bhindi (Ladyfinger/Okra) Cut into round pieces
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cooking Oil 
  • Salt to taste

Instructions for cooking Bhindi stir fry


1) Heat  oil in frying pan on medium heat
2) Add cumin seeds
3) Once seeds crackles add bhindi /okra pieces and sauté it.
4) After 5 mins the  bhindi / okra pieces might be softened / half cooked then add the salt .
5) Cook it for 5 to 7 minute in  low to medium heat  and sauté in between to avoid burn and change the taste.
6) Switch off the flame after 5 to 7 minute, crispy bhindi is ready.
7) Serve hot with chapati or plain paratha.

Tips:
Do not cut the okra / bhindi into very very thin pieces else it  might get  mushy.
pat dry with kitchen towel after washing the okra/ bhindi. It means that water on this veggie makes it mushy, so try to get rid of. Do not cover the pan with lid and cook
