It is  also the one closest to my heart, and today when I started to write about it this was the sharpest memory I had that when I was in school I used to ditch my home lunch box and eat these bread pakoras from my school canteen.

My friends and I used to stand amidst long never-ending queues. Some of us used to come early and reserve our places ahead in the queue. While some had acquaintances from other friends in different class, who would let us in the line so as to help us escape cascades of traffic 😄.

Bread pakora is also known as bread pakoda, bread bhajji. It is a popular and tasty snack from the North India. These stuffed bread pakora is also called Sandwich Bread Pakora because there is a potato filling sandwiched between two slices of bread.

They are made for breakfast & tea-time snacks. It is made with bread slices, fillings like potatoes, spices, gram flour  batter. These are also served in cafes, dhabas, school canteen & small restaurants.

Monsoons have a special connection to these hot crisp pakoras. They are easy to make, quick, and so delicious, crispy, and deep fried snack  that can be enjoyed with chutney and a  cup of hot tea .

These stuffed bread pakoras,  normally have a potato filling. You can also add so many other vegetables of your choice for  the filling like greens peas, corn or paneer. They are then dipped in spiced chickpea batter(besan) and are fried to golden perfection to create the best crunchy pakoras. They can also be made simply like that just by dipping the bread slices in the batter without any filling. You can use white bread or brown bread.

Can bread pakora be air-fried or baked?

Yes, they  can be  baked or you can air fry them at 180 degrees Celsius. But then you will not get the same texture like that of a deep fried pakora.

How to  serve bread pakora?

Here are some of my  Serving Suggestions :

Cover this potato stuffed with another  triangle slice. It just looks like potato bread sandwich. slightly press the sandwich.
Now dip the sandwich in the batter to coat it well with the batter.
Coat the stuffed bread sandwich evenly with the batter. If you take a long time to do this, bread will become soggy and break. So don’t take too long.
