Recipe for Chilli Soya Nuggets
Chilli Soya Nuggets is a vegetarian recipe. This is a simple snack dish. Soya chunks are cooked in lip smacking Chinese style gravies and in a variety of sauces to give you flavors.
How is chili soya nuggets prepared?
This Indo Chinese fusion dish is prepared by marinating the soya nuggets in corn flour and then deep frying in oil, after that you cook it with vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, onion, bell peppers, green chilies.
For a healthier version you can simple stir fry or shallow fry the soya nuggets on a pan with little oil till it becomes crisp.
Just like other Chinese appetizers of Gobi Manchurian, Chilli Paneer, this unique snack dish is a treat to all the vegetarians. Made with soya chunks as the main ingredient, this dish is rich in fibre, proteins and antioxidants. Soya chunks are one of the best vegetable protein.

How to make dry/gravy chilli soya
Ingredients for Soya Chilli Nuggets
Ingredients For Batter
2.5 Cups Soya chunks(Boiled and squeezed)7 - 8 Tbsp Cornflour
½ Tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1 Tsp Garlic powder
1 Tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
oil for deep frying.
Ingredients for Chilli Garlic Sauce.
1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic1 Tbsp chopped ginger
1-2 fresh Chili slit
2 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Red Chilli Sauce/Schezwan Sauce
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1-2 Tbsp green onions
1.5 Tbsp oil
Instructions to make Soya Chili Nuggets
1) Squeeze the boiled Soya Chunks properly. Mix everything written under the batter ingredients properly and combine well with soya chunks.
2) Heat the oil for frying. Fry the soya chunks in little batches. They should take at least 2-3 minute for a small batch. Do it on medium heat, till they are crispy. Fry all the soya chunks and keep aside.
Making of Sauce
3) Heat a pan with the oil. Add ginger and Garlic. Fry them. It will take 1-2 minute. Don’t let them brown. Add Chopped onion, bell peppers/capsicum, chopped green onion, chilies, salt and fry them for a minute or two. We want them to be crunchy.
4) Mix all the sauces Tomato Ketchup, Dark Soy Sauce, Red Chilli Sauce/Schezwan Sauce, white vinegar to the pan and fry everything for one minute.
5) Add fried soya chunks to it and mix all the ingredients well. Cook it for 1 minute and turn off the heat. Add green onion for garnishing. If you want gravy texture mix 1tsp corn flour with 1/2 cup water make lump free batter and add to the pan after you add sauces.(optional)
You can eat this in dry form as well.
