There are so many ways in which we can cook dal. Each region in India has its own speciality Dal recipes. In India dal is almost cooked every day in a meal. There various types of dal (lentils) available . For most vegetarians, dal is one of the main protein sources. Dal is the backbone of the Indian meal and definitely has a good deal of protein. Dal has several benefits including the fact that it is nutritious, tasty, and adds a perfect accompaniment to most meals.
But today, I am sharing an everyday dal recipe. It can be customized according to your taste. This dal saves me lot of time and effort. It tastes great when served along with chapatti / roti or hot rice.
I have not used onion and garlic and also any spice powder in this recipe and that is reason I decided to call this the 'Saatvik Dal'. Vegans can use oil instead of ghee.
