Easy Chocolate Burfi Recipe
This festive season give a slight twist to your usual mithais, make this Chocolate Burfi/ Barfi.
Burfi is like a fudge made of usually khoya/mawa.
So I made this an easier alternative to make burfi by using milk powder and my boys loved this mithai a lot.
This chocolate burfi has 2 layers to it. The first layer is simple milk burfi which is flavored with cardamom. The second layer is of course chocolate layer made from melting chocolate chips.
Chocolate burfi recipe is one of the easy and quick sweets that can be made under 30 minutes. These Sweets are made with milk and so should be consumed within 3-5 days.
What is barfi/burfi?
Burfi is an Indian sweet fudge made mostly with milk, sugar and flavoring ingredients.
Can you believe something cooked so quickly and simply taste so great, but believe me it tasted great and adding chocolate chips to it was a hit since my boys loved it a lot.
Variations
How to make chocolate burfi/barfi
Ingredients for Chocolate Barfi
2 tsp ghee
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk at room temperature
1 cup milk powder
1 tsp Cardamom powder
3 to 4 tbsp Chocolate chips
Instructions to make chocolate burfi
- Mix sugar and milk in a bowl .
- When sugar melts in the milk, add milk powder little by little to the sugar and milk mixture.
- Now Heat the pan and add 1 spoon ghee.
- Mix the mixture and stir on medium heat.
- Add cardamom powder to the mix on slow to medium heat.
- When mixture thickens reduce heat to slow and keep mixing till it leaves the pan it will take approx 10 to 15 minutes for the consistency .
- Put it on greased plate or trays and keep aside .
- Melt chocolate chips. You can Microwave 30 sec then spread over the barfi then smoothen it or even the surface with knife and sprinkle the chopped dry fruits.
- Put in refrigerator for 8 to 10 hours
- Then cut in desired shapes triangle or rectangle and enjoy
